Playlist Schedulling using Broadcast Calendar

In this lesson we learn about how to create content lists / playlist using the broadcast calendar.

Broadcast Calendar

Looking at the calendar above we see days with day numbers 90, 91…you will only see these numbers if there is a playlist created for that day. If we click on e.g. day 90 – the playlist appears behind the calendar box, see below.

Viewing the playlist

media_1396529206367.png

We can see all the content scheduled in the playlist and the duration of the media items and if you look at the bottom of the playlist, you will see the duration for the whole playlist.
To make a new playlist for the day, click on the day in calendar that you want to make playlist for and a box like one below pops up.

Create New Playlist

media_1396529459040.png

Click “yes” to create a new playlist – Click “No” or close the box at the top right if you don’t want to create a playlist.
When you have clicked on Yes – you will notice that the day number appears for the day that you had clicked and that there’s a new blank box behind the calendar that you can use to create playlist.
Close the Broadcast Calendar and start creating the list.

Creating and Editing the Playlist

media_1396595279594.png

The easiest way of scheduling a playlist is by dragging the media item you are going to use to the clipboard ( search for an item then drag it to clipboard and close your search results box)

Create the playlist by dragging media items from the clipboard onto the content box.

Once you have dragged media items / files to the content box, you can move the items up and down according to your preference, as well as delete item or set duration for the item.

You can select multiple items by clicking control button and items that you to edit or delete.
The last media item placed does not have to be looped – leave it on play next item.

When you create playlist – other media items will have duration automatically but you might find others that don’t show content duration, so if there’s no duration on the content – you will have to put it in manually…this is how you do it.

Selecting Content Duration

1. Right click on the content with no duration (make sure it is the correct item that you have click on)
2. On the drop-down list, click on “Time”
3. Click on Content Duration and the box below will appear.

Adding time to content
